Koh Samui: Random Resorts That Were Amazing

Part of my exploration of Lamai Beach was wandering around random resorts looking for beautiful photo ops, pools, and massages. :) I found some absolutely amazing places. Even the 4 and 5 star resorts were super cheap in comparison to hotels in the States. A magnificent hotel there could cost $100 USD a night, which is exceptionally expensive in Thailand, but ridiculously cheap for a 5-star hotel with concierge and such. Next time, maybe...

Koh Samui: Beachy Goodness

Koh Samui, and Lamai Beach, where I was, is both sandy beach and huge boulder-y. All along are resorts, offering various water recreation, and there are maybe 30 huts for massages. People walk up and down the beach all day selling their wares, and sometimes the manicure women will attack your feet no matter how many times you decline their offers. At the south end of Lamai are the majority of the boulders, and two are named Grandmother and Grandfather rock. I will write more about them in their own post. Hysterical. Here is a smattering of my best beachy photos, over the 11 days I was on Koh Samui.

Storm rolling in. Skies looked pretty ominous, but although Chaweng got it, we never saw any rain in Lamai.
