Hayes in April

Hayes is enjoying my bed on Kayla's floor.

At the temporary housing in Beomeo.

This is why I keep the trash can under the sink in my apartment. I forget for one day, and...ARGH!

He likes to "unmake" my bed when I'm not home. I have visions of him cuddled up in my bed while I'm at work.

At my new apartment in Seongseo.

Out with the Training Folks

After our first night of training, Chris (one of the foreign managers) took us out on the town. First we went out to eat.

Alex.

Rob.

Kyung Tae and Hyun, two of the reinforcement team for MK. They help with apartment problems, making doctor appointments, taking us, and translating for us, opening our bank accounts, etc. They're awesome, and all have near-perfect English.

Samgyupsal (pork Korean BBQ)

Outside of the restaurant, downtown.

The group on our way to the bar.

At the Japanese bar.

The really scary snack at the bar. The steam made the meat shavings wave in the breeze like it was moving. Supposedly vegetarian, but you did catch the part about meat shavings, right?

Lunch before our next training day was at an Indian restaurant. This is Aiden. In the background is a permanently-featured Santa Claus.

Temporary Housing in Beomeo

I was excited to move into my temporary housing for my new job. Kayla has been more than kind to put me up for three weeks, but we both need our space, and I'm tired of living out of boxes. I'm only in temp housing for about 10 days, but it's long enough to find some work things that I'll need.

My new bed, complete with the warmest comforter, sheets, and pillows. Provided as part of my move-in by my new company. Mine to keep. They're already better than my last employer!

Bedroom.

Sherbert bathroom. Functional, but hideous.

Kitchen.

Cabinets in my kitchen. Way too small for actual cooking, but luckily I never do that.

My new plates and dishes, also provided by my company.

They even gave me food!! Enough for a day or two.

The view from my window includes a Burger King. :)

Confused dog...

...found himself a bed.

Yes, they really do make square pots especially for ramyeon (ramen). They're actually quite useful.

The is one of the huge apartment complexes in the area. I pass it to get to training. It's called Lotte Castle. They have all kinds of extras like gyms, temple/prayer areas, etc.

The view from my window during the day. SK is a gas station. I like the paper lanterns on the building behind it.

Shopping with Kayla

Kayla and I found some fun and crazy things this month when we went shopping. I don't look good in hats. I used to...I don't know what happened.

Panda suitcases.

Terrifying.

Animal cake cutters. Mostly scary.

I do actually like this. :)

Asha's Birthday and Gladiators

My first day out after returning to Korea was for my friend Asha's birthday. We went to Gogo Party, my favorite dance club. We had a wonderful surprise, GLADIATORS! :D
